It all began with a passion for innovation, nutrition, science and the sea. Combined, these passions are at the origin of the research and development of new marine active ingredients for human and animal nutrition and health. Let's look back at the birth of this expertise.

Over 40 years' experience

Since its creation in 1978 in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin by Bernard Noël, an agricultural engineer, Laboratoire Dielen has become one of France's leading players in marine biotechnology for human and animal health and nutrition.

Backed by 45 years of research, Laboratoire Dielen is todayone of the world's leading experts in the development, production and marketing of marine active ingredients and innovative natural health products. The laboratory has filed 8 innovation patents on marine hydrolysates, also known as bioactive marine peptides.

In the 1970s, international epidemiological studies highlighted the health benefits of a varied Mediterranean diet rich in seafood. The sea is an important source of nutrients and potential active ingredients for the nutritional balance and health of every individual.

In the light of these observations, Laboratoire Dielen carried out its first research into animal nutrition, thanks to the work of veterinary surgeon Michel Lefevre. These studies were then completed in human nutrition with the collaboration of Professor Maurice Cloarec of the metabolic diseases department of the Tenon Hospital in Paris. This led to Laboratoire Dielen obtaining its first innovation patent, and the first dietary supplement in the range: Molval^®.

Subsequently, and right up to the present day, the laboratory has collaborated with university and medical research centers to develop nutritional complexes whose health benefits are based on scientific and clinical evidence.

Today, scientific expertise has been passed on to a new generation: Antoine Noël, pharmacist and son of Bernard Noël, and Paul Violette, engineer and grandson of Michel Lefevre. They work in collaboration with research doctors and dieticians.

At Dielen, we are convinced that putting these recommendations into action is essential. Although they are well known to all, awareness of their health benefits and their implementation are still very low.

That's why, for 45 years, Dielen has been developing natural health products to help people take charge of their own health. These new ways of eating, moving, working, relaxing and simply taking care of ourselves and our loved ones are complementary to medicine. Modern health is becoming more global and integrative.
