Join a passionate team where innovation, science and health are at the heart of our projects!
A pioneer in marine bioactivity since 1978, Laboratoire Dielen combines academic research and industrial expertise to develop natural, effective and differentiating health solutions.

In this context, we are proposing an ambitious PhD project, in partnership with the University of Lille (UMRT 1158 BioEcoAgro and UGSF), focusing on the valorization of algae products and co-products to develop new nutraceutical actives for human and animal health.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be at the heart of an innovative project under the Activalgues program (BPI-Regions funding), and will take part in all stages of research and development:

  1. Study and valorization of algae co-products
    • Spirulina (after phycocyanin extraction)
    • Macroalgae Laminaria digitata & Laminaria hyperborea
    • Ulva intestinalis, a by-product of oyster farming
  2. Bioactivity screening and optimization
    • Perform in silico and in vitro tests to assess effects on fatigue, immunity, dyslipidemia and muscle function.Transform protein fractions by enzymatic hydrolysis, select and characterize the most promising hydrolysates.
    • Implement an approach combining in silico modeling and experimental design.
  3. Identification and deepening
    • Select 2 to 3 ingredients of interest.
    • Study their mechanisms of action in depth during the thesis.
  • Master's degree in biochemistry, biotechnology or physiology.
  • Appreciated knowledge of plant or algal resources (experience with algae would be a plus).
  • Expected skills: enzymology, cell culture, immunoassays (ELISA, RIA), bioinformatics.
  • Good command of French and English.
  • Scientific rigor, autonomy and a taste for multidisciplinary teamwork (academic and industrial).
  • A unique opportunity to carry out a CIFRE thesis combining cutting-edge academic research and industrial development.
  • Support from expert teams at the University of Lille and the Laboratoire Dielen.
  • A high-impact project at the heart of today's health and sustainability issues.
  • A stimulating, dynamic and caring environment, conducive to the development of solid scientific and professional skills.
